MESA, AZ, USA – March 24, 2010  –  PCT International, a leading worldwide manufacturer of last mile and access network solutions for broadband communications networks, today announced the pending opening of a “broadband innovation campus” that has been designed to advance the quality and reliability of cable and telecommunications networks worldwide.

The campus, located in Mesa, AZ, is being created to combine a wide variety of activities that enhance PCT International’s ability to offer high-quality, highly-responsive and cost-effective solutions for its service provider customers.   The 97,000 square foot facility will bring together headquarters and product development activities, as well as testing and training facilities, and will serve as a key location in PCT International’s distributed manufacturing and distribution infrastructure.

Designed with its own Lab, an Auditorium and Training Center, a “House” for training and testing, and a Machining and Prototyping Facility, the campus will enable PCT International to work more closely with its customers to create and deploy superior broadband solutions.  Capabilities include:

  • Prototyping and electrical, mechanical and environmental testing of all cable and RF products;
  • Prototyping and testing of all copper and Ethernet products;
  • Development and testing of advanced home networking technologies; and
  • Hosting of beginner and advanced drop materials installation training classes and events on
    behalf of PCT International customers and industry technical and engineering organizations.

“With the increased reliance on advanced two-way services, operators are relying on us more than ever to help them to maintain the integrity and readiness of their broadband networks,” said Steve Youtsey, President and CEO of PCT International.  “Our investment in this campus reflects the commitment that we are making to provide the highest-quality resources for our customers and the cable industry.”

In addition to executive, engineering, fabricating, testing and training facilities, the PCT International campus will allow the company to consolidate current operations in Tempe and Gilbert into a single location.  The new location features a jacketing and cable repacking center and a warehouse with retail and “will call” facilities, enabling it to serve as a major southwestern hub for distribution and logistics.  A total of 78 people are expected to be employed at the new center when it opens in May.

“Just as important as our commitment to service providers is the investment we are making in Mesa and the surrounding environs,” said Youtsey.  “PCT International has benefitted greatly from the talent pool in the Phoenix area for more than a dozen years; we look forward to growing together with the community in our new facility in the years to come.”
